BAD BUSSINESS!

I was running a small guest house in Thailand. It was not easy to find staff at that time, so I used my housekeeper to help me run the place. She did not have a great reputation for honesty, but I had no personal problem with her on that score. You never know with these kinds of stories because people might have been jealous, she had a good job and tried to make trouble for her. I consulted the I Ching and received hex 42. INCREASE, line 3.
Line 3 means: One is enriched through unfortunate events.
No blame, if you are sincere
And walk in the middle,
And report with a seal to the prince.
A time of blessing and enrichment has such powerful effects that even events ordinarily unfortunate must turn out to the advantage of those affected by them. These persons become free of error, and by acting in harmony with truth they gain such inner authority that they exert influence as if sanctioned by the letter and seal.
Back then, I had no experience with this line and took the advice to mean that there was something irregular about the situation but that all would be well.
Things were OK until I got sick and was in the hospital for some time. I had no choice but to leave my housekeeper in charge as there were guests in residence. When I got out though, I found she had left the day before. The rents, money for food, and the float were all gone as well!
Since then, I have had more examples of this line and now I am quite sure it is no good at all.
Other lines in Hex 42
Line 1: Best line! A powerful harbinger of good fortune that comes three times almost by itself.
Line 2. Good, but more effort on your part is required than in line 1.
Line 3: Avoid bad people.
Line 4: Continuing with projects brings success.
Line 5. Positive and lucky
Line 6: Not enough experience to be certain.
Note: this story was really much longer with twists and turns. I edited down as it was a bit boring and so as not to confuse the reader.

I was surprised to see someone using the I Ching in such a practical way. I tried myself but could not make it work. This system seems much better
